AFN Network+ join the Eating Better alliance

News | Published  5 December 2025

We are delighted to announce that AFN Network+ (UKRI Agri-food for Net Zero Network+) is now a member of the Eating Better alliance. They are a long-term collaborator on our work programmes including Changing the Narrative and Nourishing Justice.

“We’re excited to be joining the Eating Better alliance. Over the past three years the AFN Network+ has built a community of 3,000 researchers, industry professionals and policymakers to explore pathways to a more sustainable future. Like Eating Better, we believe transforming the food system depends on bringing a diverse range of people and perspectives into the discussion. We look forward to working together to support this transformation.”

The AFN Network+ brings together 3,000 research leaders and stakeholders to drive the UK agri-food sector’s transition towards net zero, while benefiting livelihoods, biodiversity, and ecosystems.

Through multidisciplinary collaborations, they identify research gaps and work across the sector to shape and support a sustainable, low-emission future for UK food and farming.

Alongside their core mission, they run networking and knowledge-exchange events and seed fund new research, giving out £1 million over the life of the project.

"AFN Network+ have played a key role kickstarting our Changing the Narrative project, sharing useful resources and webinars whilst creating connections with new contacts working across the food system." - Andrew Stark, Senior Research and Policy Manager, Eating Better
