Vicki Hird announced as Eating Better trustee

Vicki is Head of Sustainable Farming at Eating Better alliance organisation – Sustain.

The Eating Better board are pleased to announce that Vicki Hird has been appointed as a Trustee.

Vicki is Head of Sustainable Farming at Eating Better alliance organisation – Sustain. She is an expert, strategist and senior manager who has been working on environment, food and farming issues for over 25 years. She is an award-winning campaigner and an author, her latest book about invertebrates is due to be published in the Autumn.

Prior to her current role, Vicki worked with War on Want and Friends of the Earth, as well as providing expert consultancy to organisations including RSPB, The Sustainable Development Commission, Greenpeace and the Plunkett Foundation. She has launched many major food and environment campaigns, from local to global in scope.

Vicki is a Fellow of the Royal Entomological Society and the RSA she is also a trustee of PAN-UK, the Pesticides Action Network, and the Keo Foundation. Vicki has sat on numerous NGO and government advisory groups over the years, most recently as an advisor to the Farming for the Future fund.  She is also: on the Strategic Advisory Board for Sustainable Soils Alliance; a member of the DEFRA ELMS Engagement Stakeholder Group; and a member of DEFRA Edible Horticulture Roundtable. 

On her appointment Vicki has said "I am very happy to join the board of this ever-growing alliance and help guide its work to make our food system more sustainable, ethical and healthy".
